Troy Buswell, the leader of the opposition Liberal Party in Western Australia, was under intense pressure to resign over the incident, which happened in 2005. [Telegraph]

Congo police arrest penis snatchers: Police in Congo have arrested suspected sorcerers accused of using black magic to steal or shrink men’s private parts. There has been a wave of panic and attempted lynchings triggered by the alleged witchcraft. Reports of so-called penis snatching are not uncommon in West Africa, where belief in traditional religions and witchcraft remains widespread, and where ritual killings to obtain blood or body parts still occur. Evening Standard diarist in manure attack: A journalist at the Evening Standard was assaulted this morning, when an aggrieved subject of one of the newspaper’s diary items got up early to throw manure at him. [Times]

No sex please, we’re Deutsche Bank: Deutsche Bank has told its executives that they cannot claim brothel visits and adult films in hotels on company expense accounts. An internal memo, obtained by the German magazine Spie-gel, said: “Deutsche Bank does not approve of any adult entertainments and such expenditures will not be reimbursed.” [Telegraph]

Man said ‘wombat rape’ led to accent change: A New Zealand man who claimed he was raped by a wombat and that the experience left him speaking with an Australian accent has been found guilty of wasting police time. [Telegraph]

A scandal in which a town planner had sex with a string of men seeking her approval for multi-million pound developments threatens to engulf the government of Australia’s most populous state. In what has been dubbed the “Mile High-rise Club”, Beth Morgan, 32, slept with three prominent developers - receiving cash and gifts from two of them - while she was approving their projects, together worth more than £50 million. Morgan, a divorced mother-of-one, was reported to be “on a mission for sex”, determined to bed as many men of influence as possible during her time working as a town planner, from 2000 to 2007.
