Too bad for ipodmovies, missing out on Brokeback, which deserves its place on this and virtually every major list there is of best films of the decade. Its a masterpiece.

It’s incredibly difficult to come up with only 10 movies that have blown my mind in the last 10 years. There are a lot of things that didn’t make it on the list. Requiem, Notes on a Scandal, The Devil’s Rejects, The Descent, and about 10 others would have gone on a longer list.

Fabulous list! Most on the list I agree with, yet there were a few that I would add that weren’t there. ‘Requiem for a Dream’ would definately be added, as it was captivating while at the same time disturbing. I would also add ‘Notes on A Scandal’, and ‘Transamerica’; both for acting mind-blows, especially watching Felicity Huffman’s character making you believe you were watching a man who had not yet become a total anatomical female. Great list, and Happy New Year!

Great list! As for Capturing the Friedmans, how about the interesting scene where the young man’s face is in shadow, the light is on his lap, and he says “hypnosis”–but his dialogue appears out of sync with his body movements?

Julia, this is a really good list. In some ways, it’s an alternate version of my list, with mirrors of each other’s choices; only slightly different and opposite. OLDBOY will be on mine, and I think that’s the only direct link. SHAUN OF THE DEAD may be on there, but I think it may be just this side of edged out. I’m going to start posting mine this week if you want to check it out. Anyway, thanks for sharing. At least you didn’t choose Paul Haggis’s CRASH, but I think I knew you wouldn’t!
