I am Harshad H Dave from India. I have gone through and studied the book "ABRAHAM LINCOLN" by Benjamin P. Thomas, September, 1968 edition. I want to translate it into local language (GUJARATI language) to intruduce A. Lincoln about his great works and bold life to new generation / young students of primary secondary school.
I request to grant me your kind permission if possible.
Regards,
Harshad H Dave

Sir,<br

However the question is wouldn't it have been better if Peter Bridges had written a biography of Abraham Lincoln?

A very comprehensive review indeed. Nevertheless, despite the omissions Bridges lists, he makes me want to read the book. What a well written and enlightening review - thank you.

Peter Bridges mentions at the outset that the biography is in some ways disappointing, and, as he points out, discussion particularly of the diplomatic missions by a Roman Catholic archbishop, an Anglican bishop and a prominent business leader plainly should have been included, because documented.
