Too bad the film in two casual remarks indicts those nasty Republicans and has the Democrats wearing the robe of fairness. What’s to shoot down McCarthy? Easy to assume a Republican would have fired Julie. For someone who came to dinner to eat and not listen to political conversation, the film has a slightly sour taste.

I just fell in love with Julia Child all over again. My husband’s and my shared laughter at the interaction between Julia and Paul made me appreciate how much of our lives in our marriage revolve around food. I go on record that although I love food, I am not a cook. I leave the delights of the kitchen to my husband. Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci were yummy together. As always, Nora Ephron has delivered.

A wonderful movie – told & acted with heart! Both Julia and Julie are women who sought fulfilment through the constant of their love of food & cooking. Julie is a decidedly “retro” 21st-century female; Julia was a decidedly “forward-thinking” 20th-century woman. Both of them meet in the middle in this depiction of how they stay true to themselves despite many obstacles. I am truly inspired by this tale, which will become a classic.

Another amazing performance by Meryl!! Stanley Tucci was absolutely delicious. I craved more of these characters than the others. Coincidently, everyone applauded at the end of the movie at my local theater as well. Although I won’t reveal my age, I will say that practically everyone in the theater appeared over 50.

Merlyn’s acting was very good. I had gone to watch this movie with my wife & we both did like it very much! At the end of the movie, everybody gave a very loud applause, which itself is a priceless rating by the public.
