Preacher is such a wonderfully evil man that I hope he survives this book and lives to entertain us in the future.

I’m listening to a recorded version of the book and am amazed by the characters, especially Preacher, and the beautiful writing. I love Burke and I have been trying to order three of his books from Amazon and they will not accept my identy so I am looking for another book seller. My town does not carry enough Burke booksand I protest that. Nancy

I agree with previous writer. I have come on-line to see what people are saying. I have long been a Burke fan but this is extreme Burke, yet somehow more tender and humane despite the heartbreaking brutal violence. For better or worse, I am with those that suggest this book goes straight to a great director to make into a movie. There will be little for the screen writer, director, cinematographer to do, except re-create the words and settings exquisitely rendered by Burke.

Don’t laugh but I am at page 334 wondering why this book isn’t being touted as a classic.
