This review is not... This is probably the snobbiest, most pretentious review I have ever read. Umn not a dumb guy, but I felt really lost trying to get through all of the stuck up vocabulary that was used. I felt like I was reading the kjv bible. Anyhow, the first book is a little hard to get through. But if you give it a chance till the end, you will see it gets a whole lot better. The second and third books are wonderful.

The books are great. Deucalion was therefore born of he who gave fire (knowledge?) to mankind. He was also, however, the ancient Greek's equivalent to Noah, saving mankind through his piety and through building an ark upon which life would survive a deluge brought down upon the land by the wrath of Zeus.

Why has no one noted that Deucalion took his name from the son of Prometheus? I can hardly imagine anyone would think otherwise, let alone say it was trash.

This whole series of books was excellent. He took Shelley's work and said, "What if they were alive these last 200 years?" An interesting premise, but the result is hardly as flash as you seem to want to make out... I think this critic pumps up Koontz's work far too much...

I have to agree with Jim… you can quote giants like TS ELiot and Dostoevsky, but that doesn’t make this novel any better… the characters lack depth and the plot is fairly threadbare… the premise is a great one, but there’s not enough Deucalion, and too much of the cops… it’s a below average read (especially after Koontz’s “The Husband” and “Life Expectancy”)… but come one — “Could it be, that in his imagination he has stumbled across a nexus or a link to a metaphysical reality known to only a few?” I don’t think so… He took Shelley’s work and said, “What if they were alive these last 200 years?” An interesting premise, but the result is hardly as flash as you seem to want to make out… I think this critic pumps up Koontz’s work far too much…

By: jim

<guid

What a pile of cardboard characters, cliched TV dialog, and hackneyed plot devices! The pompous bombast of this review is a laughable attempt to elevate pulp slop to the status of art.

Having just finished Koontz’s book, I couldn’t wait to drop it in the trash.
